Committee Members
The Green Sanctuary Committee was sanctioned by the Board of Trustees on November 14th, 2006, as an on-going committee whose purpose is to facilitate and support the congregation in seeking recognition by the UU Ministry for Earth as a Green Sanctuary. Seeking this accreditation is among the congregational actions called for in the 2006 UUA Statement of Conscience addressing the threat of global warming/climate change.
The committee members include the chair or a representative of the following: Social Action Committee, Music/Worship Committee, Religious Education, Properties/New Building Committee, Finance; ex officio members include the congregational president, VP Administration, and the Minister.
However, by April 2009, when it was clear that the original committe had completed its charter of earning Green Sanctuary certification from the UU Ministry for Earth, we established a Green Team, made up of three volunteers to co-chair the Green Sanctuary Program: Patricia Snyder, Peggy Bradley, and Kristin Galewood (pictured here at the 2009 Earth Day Program at UUCGN.
